Overview
In 2022, My Heating Engineer was privileged to win the tender for a major plant room installation at 22 Lever Street, Manchester. The project required a robust and efficient solution to serve the building’s heating demands while ensuring long-term reliability and protection of the system.
The Installation
Our design centred around the installation of 2 x Alpha ProTec 90kW boilers, supported by a bespoke plate separation configuration. This approach allowed us to operate the boiler side as a pressurised system, while maintaining the main building side as gravity-fed.
To achieve this, a custom-built plate heat exchanger was manufactured with a 250kW operating capacity. This setup was selected not only for performance but also to provide vital system protection – ensuring that no debris or contaminants from the building circuit could enter the boiler pipework or compromise the boilers themselves.
Ongoing Service & Maintenance
Since commissioning, the owners of 22 Lever Street have entrusted us with the bi-annual servicing of these boilers. Each visit includes a full strip-down service, ensuring both units remain in peak operating condition and continue to deliver reliable, energy-efficient performance.
The Outcome
By combining carefully engineered plant room design with a proactive servicing regime, we have been able to provide the client with:
-
Enhanced system protection and boiler longevity through plate separation.
-
Peace of mind that the plant room is maintained to the highest standard.
-
Ongoing trust and partnership, with our team continuing to support the building’s heating needs long after the initial installation.
